Gibson Jerome "Gibby" Haynes (born 1957) is an American musician, radio personality, painter and the lead singer of the group Butthole Surfers.

Gibson Jerome "Gibby" Haynes (born 1957) is an American musician, radio personality, painter and the lead singer of the group Butthole Surfers.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, he is the son of actor Jerry Haynes, best known as Dallas-based kids' TV host "Mr. Peppermint." Haynes was a star on his high school's basketball team, and he attended Trinity University to study accounting. While at Trinity, Gibby was the captain of the basketball team, president of his fraternity, and was named the Accounting Student of the Year. After graduating, he went to work as an auditor for Peat Marwick accounting firm. After a year of working in accounting, he formed the Butthole Surfers, a group who became notorious for their elaborate stage shows and pervasive, psychedelic music.
Haynes played saxophone and eardrums on several albums, including Psychic... Powerless... Another Man's Sac, one of the Butthole Surfers' earlier works.
