On 23 July 1930, in the cafè Norat in la Rambla of Girona, Girona Fútbol Club was founded, upon disappearance of UE Girona. The team subsequently entered in the second division of the Catalan Championships.
The first official match was played in the Colònia Artigas, and the team would eventually compete in the second level, between 1934–43 (six seasons), 1948–51, 1956–59 and 2008–10.
