In 2005, Rob Dunn, J. P. Lessard, Matt Fitzpatrick, Nate Sanders and Ed Laurant began a project to develop a database of North American studies that have considered ant communities. Since then, we have broadened this database and associated research through a collaboration with more than twenty researchers from six continents and roughly a dozen countries.
