Gregory Cromwell, 1st Baron Cromwell of Oakham (c. 1514 - 4 July 1551) was born in Putney, Surrey, the son of Thomas Cromwell, 1st Earl of Essex, and Elizabeth Wykes. He was tutored by Richard Southwell, and attended the University of Cambridge. He married Elizabeth Seymour, the sister of Jane Seymour (and thereby the aunt of Edward VI).
