Hans Peter Geerdes (better known by his stage name H.P. Baxxter), born on 16 March 1966 in Leer, Germany, is a German entertainer and the frontman of the techno group Scooter. He founded Scooter with his friend Rick J. Jordan in 1994. Baxxter studied law for one semester, however he completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade buyer. Following that, he held a job with a record label. On 6 May 2006, he married his girlfriend Simone. Before Scooter, Baxxter founded the band Celebrate The Nun, together with Rick J. Jordan and Baxxter's sister Britt Maxime. Baxxter joined Guildo Horn, Jeanette Biedermann, Sylvia Kollek, and Tobias Künzel on the German jury for Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
