Hergé's Adventures of Tintin was an animated television series based on Hergé's popular comic book series, The Adventures of Tintin. The series was produced by Belvision and aired from 1958 to 1962, with 104 five-minute episodes produced. The series was adapted by Greg, the editor of Tintin magazine and directed by Charles Shows and Jose Dutillilieu.
This series varied widely from the original books, often changing whole plots. For instance, in the book Red Rackham's Treasure, Tintin and his friends explore an uninhabited island, while in the adaptation in this series they are attacked by "savages", and Captain Haddock plays a leading part in The Black Island, whereas he did not appear in the original book.
Most fans of the original books prefer the later television series The Adventures of Tintin as it is truer to the original books.
The Calculus Case was later re-packaged and sold as one long film only in english and in the U.K.. It has also appeared on UK Channel 5 as such.
