After reading an article criticizing him in the Seattle Times, Frasier responds by taking umbrage at the writing style of the author, Derek Mann (Joe Mantegna), on his show. Mann responds in turn by calling in and publicly challenging Frasier to a fist fight outside the Café Nervosa the next day.
