I Paralyze is the eighteenth album by American singer-actress Cher, released on May 28, 1982 by Columbia Records. This album, like other several predecessors, was a commercial failure, failed to chart. Following the record's release, Cher took a five year hiatus from music to focus on a film career. The album was released in 1982 and was the first and last for Columbia Records. The record was produced by John Farrar and David Wolpert and it is the first collaboration with the composer and producer Desmond Child. The album was promoted only on American Bandstand and Solid Gold, because of a lack of promotion it was largely ignored by critics and failed to chart. Though one reviewer mistaken called the album I'm Paralyzed. Later, in 1999 the album was reissued on the Varese Vintage reissue label and it was reestimated by fans.
