"Sweet, thanks, I'll give that a try! "
Included types are types that are included with another type and are automatically added to a topic when it is typed with the including type . For instance, if /type/person is an included type on /type/actor, then a topic that is typed as actor will automatically be typed as person as well. In this way the properties associated with the person type (such as gender, height, weight, parents) don't need to be duplicated in the actor type.
This is not true "inheritance" - it is a looser association than that. In fact, if you wanted to add an actor "Lassie," you couldĀ remove the type "person" from that topic, since Lassie is actor but not a person.
Generally, most types have /type/topic as an included type, although this isn't displayed. This ensures that, for all topics, the properties of /type/topic such as description, weblink(s). and image are automatically included.
