James "J.D." DePree also known as Jim DePree (March 14, 1879 – July 1972) was the 5th head coach for the University of Tennessee Volunteers football team. He coached the 1905 and 1906 seasons. His career record was 4-11-3. While at UT he started the schools first basketball team. He also married Fannie Wilson of Knoxville who bore his three sons. He was born in Holland, Michigan in 1879 and died in Sarasota, Florida in 1972.
