Govaert is one of the first graduates of the Dutch Rockacademy in Tilburg. At a very young age she started playing music. When she was twelve she started to write songs on her piano. At highschool she started the band Krezip. She is the main writer for the band and plays the piano in the band. But since her fellow bandmember Annelies Kuijsters had a hand injury and therefore wasn't allowed to play guitar anymore, Annelies became the band's pianist. Jacqueline is happy about it because "...now I can concentrate on my performance."
She has been a guest singer on several projects for several artists such as the music project Ayreon, Dutch band Relax (on the album Odeur de Clochard), Armin van Buuren and Fernando Lameirinhas.
