It is their first release off of Skunk Records, the independent record label created by Bradley Nowell and, long-time friend, Miguel Happoldt. It contains numerous songs later re-recorded onto the following album, 40 Oz. to Freedom. Also, "Had a DAT" and "Slow Ride" appear on their 1997 compilation album, Second-hand Smoke.
