Mr. Jones spent the majority of his career in a variety of senior
executive level positions at Bank of America and Wells Fargo. In his
roles as President of Direct Banking and Group Executive Vice President
of Consumer Credit at Bank of America, he led the growth of Bank of
America's retail lending operations and significantly expanded the
bank's geographic diversity through an acquisition strategy. During his
tenure at Bank of America, he was successful in growing their online
banking accounts to over 700,000 users, residential mortgage
originations to more than $15 billion in revenues, and mortgage
servicing to more than $40 billion in loans.
As Executive Vice President of Consumer Credit at Wells Fargo for
more than 15 years, Mr. Jones was responsible for a number of
significant accomplishments, including the growth of mortgage
originations and servicing, and the development of the first hybrid
adjustable rate mortgage product offering. In addition, he managed the
largest bank auto lease portfolio in the country, building it into one
of Wells Fargo's most profitable units.
More recently, Mr. Jones was Vice Chairman of Credit and Risk
Management at Providian Financial in San Francisco where he stabilized
credit performance and accelerated offshore outsourcing initiatives.
Prior to his role as Vice Chairman, he served as President of Providian
International operations where he grew their UK and Argentina divisions
to loan portfolios of $650 million and $150 million, respectively.
Mr. Jones earned an M.B.A. from the University of Kansas, an M.A.
from the University of Nebraska, and a B.A. from Washburn University.
