James Grant Forbes (Shanghai, October 22, 1879 – Paris, April 24, 1955) was an Irish American businessman, a member of the Forbes family, son of Francis Blackwell Forbes and wife Isabel Clark and brother of William Hathaway Forbes. James Grant Forbes was born in Shanghai, China, He amassed a fortune from banking and large scale organized heroin dealing and smuggling. He went to school in Ireland and graduated from Harvard University. Forbes was also a successful international banker as well as being involved with heroin. It is said that he would have the heroin smuggled in tea, as he was also involved in the tea trade.
