Jan Heemskerk Abrahamszoon (30 July 1818 – 9 October 1897) was a Dutch politician, who became the prime minister of the Netherlands in 1874 until 1877, and again in 1883, until 1888. His son, Theo Heemskerk was also prime minister, in the period 1908-1913. Heemskerk was born in Amsterdam in 1818. He studied law and became a lawyer, then a member of the House of Representatives.
