Jan Šimák (born 13 October 1978 in Tábor) is a Czech footballer who plays for Bundesliga team VfB Stuttgart. He is an attacking midfielder well known for his powerful shot and goalscoring from midfield, as well as to his affility to alcohol.

He previously played for Hannover 96 and Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, and Sparta Prague in his homeland, where he won two league titles. He has also played for the Czech national football team once, in a 4-1 friendly win over Slovakia on 21 August 2002. Before the 2007-08 season Simak, a key player for Sparta Prague was forced to move to FC Carl Zeiss Jena by his club because of indiscipline.
In summer 2008 he moved to VfB Stuttgart.
