The character was killed off in the serial, making his final credited appearance on 29 August 2008. Jase arrived in Walford in search of his estranged son, Jay Brown, on 19 July, 2007. He appeared to flirt with Honey Mitchell, angering her husband Billy. When Billy found Jase's letter regarding visits to a probation office, he told the community that Jase was a criminal, causing them to shun him. When Jay discovered his father had been in prison, he reacted badly and was arrested for carving "LIAR" into a bus shelter, referring to Jase's lies about where he had been all his life.
