Jill is one of the two protagonists of the original Resident Evil game, where she was introduced as a member of the Raccoon Police Department's Special Tactics And Rescue Service (STARS), trapped in a secret research complex of the sinister Umbrella Corporation. She returned as the protagonist in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, where she escapes Raccoon City following the zombie outbreak; in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, in which she and Chris Redfield raid Umbrella's Russian base; in Resident Evil 5, as a founding member of the UN-funded paramilitary group Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA); and in Resident Evil Revelations which is set during her earlier years in the BSAA.
