Cheung worked on several Marvel series during the mid- to late 1990s. His work on Scion for Crossgen Comics in the early 2000s attracted favorable attention, and he returned to Marvel with a considerably higher profile. He later illustrated the five-issue New Avengers: Illuminati mini-series for Marvel Comics, and then pencilled two more issues of New Avengers.
