John Carter Hensley (born August 29, 1977) is an American actor best known for playing Matt McNamara on Nip/Tuck. He's also known for his role as Gabriel Bowman in the supernatural action TV series Witchblade John's parents divorced when he was 3 years old. He and his sister spent time with both parents growing up. He was born in Hyden, Kentucky, United States. Before becoming an actor, Hensley worked on a horse ranch in Wyoming. Though always drawn to storytelling, Hensley did not intend to act before he auditioned for a college play. Although he was not cast, he was hooked. Immersing himself in the school's theatre community, he formed an improv group with a few other students. He eventually decided to move to New York, where he met his future manager. Hensley's first major role was playing Luke Madigan on the TV series Madigan Men. His next television role was Gabriel Bowman on the series Witchblade.
