John Herbert Hollomon, Jr. (1919 - 1985-05-08), generally known as J. Herbert Hollomon, was a noted American engineer and founding member of the National Academy of Engineering. Hollomon was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and in 1946 received his D.Sc. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in metallurgy.
