John P. Morgridge

John P. Morgridge (born 1933) is an American businessman who was the chairman of the board of Cisco Systems. Morgridge is from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. John P. Morgridge (born 1933) is an American businessman who was the chairman of the board of Cisco Systems. Morgridge is from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin (now University of Wisconsin–Madison) in 1955, and earned an MBA from Stanford University in 1957. While at Wisconsin he joined Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He joined Cisco in 1988 as its first chief executive officer and chairman of the board. He was replaced by John Chambers as CEO in 1995 and as Chairman in 2006. Morgridge serves on several corporate and charity boards of directors, including the Nature Conservancy and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, and is a trustee of Stanford University, where he teaches management at the Graduate School of Business. less
