John Rafferty, Jr.

John Rafferty, Jr. (born February 7, 1953) is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate who has represented the 44th District since 2003. Prior to his election to the State Senate, Rafferty served as a member of the Montgomery County Board of Assessment Appeals from 1996 to 2002. In addition, he was a director of the Methacton School District and township supervisor in Lower Providence Township, Pennsylvania. He was also Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania from 1988 to 1991 and General Manager of the General Washington Recreation Center from 1976 to 1986. As a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, he serves on several Senate Committees including; Appropriations, Banking & Insurance, Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure, Judiciary, Law & Justice, and is the Chairman of the Transportation Committee. He is the immediate past of the Senate Law & Justice Committee.
