Jon Van Caneghem is a computer game designer and producer. He is most recognized for creating the Might and Magic role-playing game series and its strategy spin-off Heroes of Might and Magic.

On September 25, 2006 it was announced that Van Caneghem, together with Lars Buttler, former vice president of Global Online at Electronic Arts, formed a new company named Trion World Network, headquartered in Redwood City, California, that would "leverage all the inherent capabilities of broadband, provide original entertainment, and define the future of media in the global broadband era".
