As Executive Vice President of Business Development, Jon Werther
drives strategic transactions and relationships for the company (with a
primary focus on distribution, content, platform/technology, new
service and product-related transactions) and evaluates new business
opportunities. His group also focuses on the process of innovation at
AOL, working with key stakeholders throughout the company to help
generate ideas, share best practices and instill more systematic
processes to foster and reward innovation.
Werther spent the past year working at Time Warner, Inc. as Vice
President, Operations, where he was responsible for strategic business
initiatives and shareholder value creation opportunities at both the
corporate and divisional operating levels.
Prior to that, Werther spent seven years at AOL in a variety of
executive roles, overseeing a broad range of cross-company operational
initiatives, structuring and negotiating various strategic
transactions, formulating key AOL strategies, and developing new
revenue streams.
Before joining AOL, Werther worked at Arnold & Porter LLP in
Washington, DC, where he represented and advised clients in connection
with a variety of transactions, primarily in South America and Asia.
Werther earned an MBA from The Wharton School, a JD from the George
Washington University Law School (where he graduated Order of the Coif
and was a member of the George Washington Law Review) and a BA from
Emory University (where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa).
