Kalayaan College is a private college which was formerly located at Riverbanks in Barangka, Marikina. It is now moved to Manga Road cor Aurora Blvd, near the LRT station of Betty-Go Belmonte. It was established by big names in the academic institutions. The college's current president, Dr. Jose Abueva, is the former president of University of the Philippines.
The college follows UP's curriculum, such as the grading system for students (where 1 is the highest grade and 5 is the lowest grade, also known as the failing grade). Most of the professors are also members of UP's faculty. Nowadays, new faculty members are U.P. graduates.
