Karey Kirkpatrick (born c. 1965) is a screenwriter. His films include James and the Giant Peach, Chicken Run, Curious George, Charlotte's Web and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy adaptation. He directed Imagine That starring Eddie Murphy as well as Over the Hedge with Tim Johnson.

Formerly, he performed in the SAK Comedy Lab improvisational theater in Orlando, Florida. He is an alumnus of Baton Rouge Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. While in high school, he performed in many music theatre productions, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, in which he played the lead role of Pseudolus. He also formed an early contemporary Christian band, Crossroads, with fellow students Byron Simpson, Leslie Hammatt, Libby Williams and Todd Hinkie.
