LaNasa was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Annie (née Hardin) and Dr. James J. LaNasa, Jr., a plastic surgeon. She was married to Dennis Hopper from June 17, 1989 to April 1992. Hopper and LaNasa had a son, Henry Lee Hopper (born 1990).
