During the five years she was gone, she qualified as a nurse and had landed a job at the Stanning Rehabilitation Clinic. She had changed her first name to Catherine, and adopted her mother's maiden name of Sangmu. Katya's father had a Belarus background and her mother Francesca was from Tibet.
