When the Klingon "sleeper ship" (a ship with a crew in suspended animation) T'Ong was being returned to Klingon space in 2365, K'Ehleyr was the supervising emissary on the mission to prevent a possible incident involving the Klingons onboard the T'Ong, who thought the Klingon Empire was still at war with the Federation ("The Emissary"). K'Ehleyr and Worf had previously been romantically involved, and when she came onto the USS Enterprise-D the two reconciled and became intimate during one of Worf's calisthenic holodeck programs; Worf told K'Ehleyr they were now mated, but she refused saying it was a Klingon tradition she wanted no part of.
After the successful aversion of an incident with the revived crew of the T'Ong, K'Ehleyr took command of the Klingon ship. At an unknown time after that, K'Ehleyr became a Federation ambassador to the Klingons...
