Among Van Horn's collegiate accomplishments is being the first player in the Western Athletic Conference to be named Player of the Year three times (1995, '96, '97), being the second player in WAC history to make first-team all-WAC four years, and being the leading career scorer in Utah and WAC history with 2,542 points. In February 2008, he was among 16 players named to the University of Utah's "All-Century" basketball team.
