Kelis Was Here is the fourth studio album by American R&B; singer–songwriter Kelis, released in the United States on August 22, 2006 by LaFace Records and Jive Records. It involves production by Bangladesh, Raphael Saadiq, Max Martin, Sean Garrett, and Scott Storch, among others, and also features collaborations with will.i.am, Nas, Cee-Lo, Too $hort, and Spragga Benz. The album was nominated for the Best Contemporary R&B; Album category at the 2007 Grammy Awards and is also notable for being the first Kelis record to feature no production from long-time collaborators The Neptunes. The album debuted at number ten on the U.S. Billboard 200 and at number six on the Billboard Top R&B;/Hip-Hop Albums with more than 58,000 units sold within its first week of release, making it Kelis' best-charting album to date.
