Corrigan was born in The Bronx, New York. After studying at The Actors Studio, Corrigan made his film debut in 1989 in Lost Angels starring Donald Sutherland and Adam Horovitz. He also had a small role in Goodfellas as the brother of Henry Hill (Ray Liotta). After appearing in the poorly-received film Billy Bathgate, Corrigan turned his attention towards small-budget films, starting with Zebrahead. During the independent film boom of the 1990s, he built a career playing quirky, unconventional characters in films such as True Romance, Living in Oblivion and Walking and Talking. He made a rare appearance in a big-budget blockbuster film with a small role in Bad Boys. Corrigan made his television series debut as a cast member of the short-lived Rhea Perlman sitcom, Pearl.
