Kimya Dawson (born November 17, 1972) is an American singer-songwriter, best known as a solo performer and as one half of The Moldy Peaches. In Swahili, "Kimya" (كيميا) means "silence" or "silent". Dawson became well known as the female counterpart to Adam Green in the band The Moldy Peaches.
