In 2011, after an investigation, a math teacher was sent to diversity training after making racist and sexist comments, such as calling a student "Jew boy", and telling another to "get in your black BMW and go back to Glendale". However, these comments were made in context of an event. After meeting four times to discuss the teacher's actions, the La Cañada Unified school board unanimously voted to fire her.
