The current school building was constructed between late 2008 and summer 2011. It opened in September, 2011. The old school was constructed in 1949, but extensively expanded during the 1990s. The alternative 90-student Northstar Junior High is on the same campus, and is located on the bottom floor of the main building in the west wing.
Lake Washington High School students participate in a house system. In this system, all the students are put into one of four houses (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water.) Students primarily attend classes in their assigned house.
Beginning at the end of the 2007-2008 school year, the campus underwent severe construction work to clear a space for and build a new building. The design of the building is to go along with the newly implemented house system....
