Laxiwa Dam

Laxiwa Dam (simplified Chinese: 拉西瓦大坝; traditional Chinese: 拉西瓦大壩; pinyin: Lāxīwǎ Dàbà) is a large dam on the Yellow River in Qinghai Province, northwest China. It has 6 hydroelectric generators, each with a generating capacity of 700 MW. The total planned generating capacity of the project is 4,200 MW. Construction started on April 18 2006 and is scheduled for completion in 2010.
