This is a marionette opera by Italian composer Lorenzo Ferrero written in 1989 for the bicentenary of the French Revolution. The libretto by Anthony Burgess was adapted by J. P. Carasso, and the marionettes were designed by the famous artist Enrico Baj. The premiere took place at Centre Pompidou in Paris on November 15, 1989.
