Lee McKillop was born on 4 August 1969 in Southport, Merseyside and moved to Blackburn, when his parents separated and lived above a pub. He went to Birkdale County Junior School and Stanley High School. After leaving school he worked in a bingo hall and as a stableboy where duties included looking after Red Rum. After that, Mack became a blue coat at Pontin's. After appearing on stage drunk one night, he was sacked.
Mack went on to have various other jobs, and did his first open mike slot in 1994, while studying at Brunel University. Within 18 months he was a full time comedian. Lee lives with his wife Tara and children, 'Ardon [born 2004] and Louis [born 2006].
