Lee Woo-Jin is a villan and the antagonist in Park Chan-wook's Oldboy. Played by Yu Ji-tae he is a wealthy eccentric fixated on revenge.
Whilst growing up Woo-jin had a very close relationship with his sister, Soo-ah which would eventually lead to incest. While taking pictures of his sister in a classroom in the school that he attended with his sister and the protagonist Oh Dae-Su (Choi Min-sik), he begins to fondle his sister's breasts which would be seen by Dae-Su through a small crack in the window.Dae-Su would later let slip to a friend of what he'd seen (but at the time not knowing of the relation of Woo-Jin to Soo-Ah) just before heading off to Seoul.These rumours would later mutate into Soo-Ah becoming pregnant with her brother's child, and fearing the humiliation, she committs suicide by throwing herself off a bridge.
Woo-Jin would spend the next 15 years imprisoning Dae-Su, raising Mi-do (Kang Hye-jeong), (Dae-Su's daughter Yeun-Hee) and concocting his perfect revenge...
