Leeds College of Music, located in Leeds’ Quarry Hill cultural quarter, is the largest music college in the United Kingdom, with over 1,000 full-time and 1,500 part-time students. The college is best known for its leading role in jazz education and started one of the first jazz degrees in Europe. It is also the only music conservatoire in the UK to offer both Higher and Further Education courses, ranging from BTEC National Diploma courses to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Undergraduate degree courses are currently available in BA (Hons) Jazz, Music, Popular Music Studies and Music Production. Two Foundation degrees are also available, in Music Production for Film and Television and Commercial Music Production and Recording. Students on the music programmes (Jazz, Music and Popular Music Studies) can choose to specialise in either performance or composition.
