AAN News can be seen weekly Monday nights at 10:30 p.m. on Channel 41 (over the air only), KBC-TV in Chicago, Illinois. The show is rebroadcast on Tuesdays at 8:00 a.m. the next morning.

Kim attended Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois from 2000 to 2003 where she received a bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism. In the summer of 2003, shortly after returning from her first visit to South Korea, she approached the owners of KBC-TV with the idea of a weekly news magazine in English targeting second-generation Koreans and also Americans who watch Korean soap operas.
