Lip Gallagher

Phillip "Lip" Gallagher was a fictional character in the Channel 4 drama Shameless, played by Jody Latham. He is the oldest son and second child of Frank Gallagher and Monica Gallagher. Phillip "Lip" Gallagher was a fictional character in the Channel 4 drama Shameless, played by Jody Latham. He is the oldest son and second child of Frank Gallagher and Monica Gallagher. His parents delayed his birth registration for over a year, and he discovered this on his 18th (actually 19th) birthday in Series 4. His nickname, according to his father, is due to him being "a bit of a gobshite". Lip was in a long-term relationship with Mandy Maguire and they have a baby daughter, Katie. He is highly intelligent, has A-level, and was offered a place at Nottingham University in the last episode of Series 4. In the first episode of series five he returns to the estate during a break and goes to work at The Jockey whilst Mandy finds out about Lip's secret university girlfriend leading to them splitting up. It is confirmed in the next episode that he left again for university.It is unknown whether Lip will be returning for the rest of the fifth series Gallagher, Lip less
