Louise Doughty (born 4 September 1963, Melton Mowbray) is an English novelist, playwright and journalist from a Romany background. Doughty is an alumna of the University of East Anglia's Creative Writing Course. In 2006 Doughty wrote a weekly column for the Daily Telegraph inviting readers to write A Novel in a Year.
