She played the role until 1961, when she graduated from high school and explored other opportunities. She continued acting, having appeared in the series The Eleventh Hour, Daniel Boone, Fair Exchange, The F.B.I., and Return to Peyton Place. She stopped acting in 1975 and pursued a career in production instead, directing television movies and the feature film Mr. Mom in 1983.
