Mace and Chain is the youngest "landed" secret society at Yale University. The society was founded in 1956 (four years after Manuscript), became inactive in the 1960s, and was revived in the 1990s. In 2001, it acquired a regular meeting place (called a "tomb"—a 180-year old house in downtown New Haven).
