Magnus Volk

Magnus Volk (19 October 1851 in Brighton – 20 May 1937 in Brighton) was a British electrical engineer who built Volk's Electric Railway and the Brighton and Rottingdean Seashore Electric Railway. He was the son of a German clockmaker and lived at 38 Dyke Road in Brighton. In 1888, he built an electric car. Magnus Volk had a son named Conrad who wrote a biography of his father. Volk is buried at St Wulfran's churchyard in Ovingdean near Brighton.
