"Make a Wish" is the second episode from the third season of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Doctor Octopus causes disruption as Dr. Michael Pingree is demonstrating his "argon matrix laser". Spider-Man faces Doc Ock and they fight on the top of the building, eventually causing a fire. This agitates Peter as his reputation as Spider-Man isn't good following this. He subsequently decides he would rather quit fighting crime. He then receives a note asking him to visit a girl called "Taina" who is described as being a large fan of the wall-crawler. When Spider-Man agrees to take Taina on a quick trip around the city, he finds himself again facing Doctor Octopus and his new weapon; "The Octobot". When Taina asked Spider-Man if he came from a dying alien planet, she is obviously referencing to the most popular DC comics superhero Superman.
