As Executive Vice President, International, Maneesh Dhir is
responsible for AOL International and its operations in Asia, Europe,
and the Americas. His duties include overseeing the growth of portals
in these areas as well as reviewing new business opportunities arising
in the international arena.
Before he was named to his current position in 2007, Dhir was Senior
Vice President and Country Manager, based in Bangalore, India. There he
led a large workforce across technology development, back-office
operations, and call center operations. In addition, he has been
instrumental in the development of the soon-to-be launched India
portal. Earlier, Dhir played a key role in establishing and launching
AOL's operations in Bangalore.
Prior to his tenure in Bangalore for AOL, he was Vice
President-General Manager of Netscape in Mountain View, CA, and was on
the staff of Netscape when it was acquired by AOL in 1999.
Earlier in his career, he was part of the management team for an
Internet startup called KIVA Software in California that was acquired
by Netscape. Before that, he worked at Sun Microsystems, also in the
Silicon Valley, in various technology and business roles for seven
years.
Dhir earned a bachelor's of technology degree from the Indian
Institute of Technology in New Delhi, a master's of science from the
University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and a master's of business
administration from Stanford University in Stanford, CA.
