Mark Stoermer (born June 28, 1977) is the American bassist and backup vocalist of the Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers.
Stoermer was born in Texas but moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with his family when he was aged three. He holds duel citizenship in the US and Australia through his father who does as well. Stoermer was born in Texas but moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with his family when he was aged three. He holds duel citizenship in the US and Australia through his father who does as well. The Stoermer lines are also German. The street he grew up on is atop a hill that has a direct "twelve o'clock" view of the Sam's Town marquee neon sign, which is about a half-mile away. Growing up in Las Vegas Stoermer attended Chaparral High School. He played trumpet in the jazz ensemble and graduated in 1995. He later took music classes and studied philosophy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), where he also played in the marching band.
